- Grip training doesn’t take someone from ripping the flesh from their hands in a snatch set to not ripping their hands.
- Grip training does not take a 100 rep snatcher to 150 reps, nor does it take a 150 rep snatcher to 200 reps.
- Grip training doesn’t keep you from dropping the bell in a set.
The notion that grip training achieves these things is a fundamental mis-characterization of how the traditional lifts are performed. It is, has always been, and will continue to be a hip dominant effort. The very idea that your success hinges on grip training is actually, quite frankly, the very problem.
The problem with your hands is not, in fact, a problem with your hands. Once you let go of the idea that 200 reps is a product of super human grip strength, you can begin the process of re-engineering what is behind the perfect snatch...
