In-House Meet at Iron Bell Fitness in Victoria - A Great Weekend of Lifting!

The Nanaimo Kettlebell Club set off to Victoria on Saturday morning to earn some new lifting milestones at Linda Gilmour's latest In-House Meet.  Kendra Falkenberg, after an impressive showing at the OKC International meet in Vancouver (hosted at the Richmond Oval by Tricia Dong of Code 5 Fitness) where she clean & jerked the 20kg bell 60 times in a 5-minute set, made her 10-minute debut with the bell this time around.  Her result: 99 reps.  We had a plan for her to go at her own pace but stop every 6 reps to rest in the rack for an extra breath.  After switching hands she slowed down a bit, but she gradually made a run for the finish at about 7'30".
Kendra followed that up with a stellar 18kg snatch set.  She hit 148 reps, but more astounding still was the fact she did almost 100 of those reps on her right arm.

My sets were intended to be an improvement on my previous showing at Linda's.  Previously I had lifted in the 20kg Longcycle (75 reps), and 28kg snatch (92 reps).  After a successful longcycle set in Vancouver (81 reps) I decided to try something new, and for the first time performed a set with 2 x 22kg bells.  My result was 61 reps.  It was hard, but doable.  I'm just glad I was able to keep putting the bells overhead without losing fixation - I just had to slow it down to a grind and breathe.

I came out of the gates swinging for my snatch set.  I knew I was probably going too fast at the start, but didn't really care.  I did 56 reps on my left, then switched and finished with 114 reps total.  On paper an improvement from 92 reps last time, but I know I put more into the set this time around.  It was a strong set and I'm happy with it.
